County Commissioners Meet With Muskingum County Children’s Services
The Executive Director of Muskingum County Children’s Services met with the County Commissioners Thursday afternoon.
The organization protects both children and adults in Muskingum County from neglect and abandonment. Dave Boyer says that the meeting was held for an important reason.
"Essentially this meeting was to give us a place to live for the next 35 years. We essentially signed a lease agreement to stay in our sunrise center until 2049 and we’re very happy about that."
That building is located across the road the from the Juvenile Detention Center. Boyer says the large space allows them to continue their work for the county.
"Well we’re essentially out of space at our downtown agency. We don’t have enough space there, so we took that space about 10 years ago for some of the folks that we just needed to employ. We have account clerks out there, two secretaries, we’ll house our kinship operations out of sunrise as well as adult protective services."
