OhioMeansJobs Job Fair in September

Two local companies are looking to hire 3,000 seasonal employees at the next OhioMeansJobs job fair.

The fair will take place September 29 at the Muskingum County Welcome Center. The two employers are Harry & David and Fanatics. The supervisor for OhioMeansJobs of Muskingum County, Julie Metzger, said providing job fairs fits right in with the goal of OhioMeansJobs.

"When you have a job fair, it gives the employers and the job seekers time that they can sit together and talk rather than just seeing that online resume or not really having the time to sit down and talk with someone, so it’s kind of a special event to be able to do that," Metzger said.

Metzger added that the employers are looking to hire people on the spot at the job fair.

"We’ve had a lot of success with our job fairs in the past. The employers and the job seekers have meet," Metzger said. "We’ve had a lot of gained employment that’s been long lasting."

To participate in the job fair you must preregister.

You can fill out the online application for Harry & David at www.harryanddavid.com/jobs.

or for Fanatics at www.mystaffmark.com.
