Blood Drive: Friday

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive Friday.

It will be held at the new Muskingum County Chapter House in Norwich, from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Marlene Henderson, said that they have a little extra incentive for people to come out an donate blood, each donor will get a ticket to Cedar Point.

"Cedar Point is still open on the weekend, so summer is not quite over yet! Everyone likes to ride rides and enjoy Cedar Point. Every presenting donor will get 1 free ticket."

Henderson said that its best if people pre-register to donate, the overall process takes about an hour, from registration to snacks after. But, donating one unit of blood in the mobile lab last only last about 5 to 7 minutes. Henderson also said that all blood collected will be used here locally.

"All blood collected around here, it would serve Genesis, it would serve maybe South East Ohio Med, any of the places right around here. Wherever the need is greatest."
