Portion of I-70 to Close This Week

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that a portion of Interstate 70 will be reduced to one lane later this week…

ODOT District 11 said the closure is part of the $2.9 million bridge repair project at the Belmont/Guernsey County line. ODOT’s contractor, Shelly & Sands Inc., will be pouring the bridge decks in the travel lanes.

To allow for this work, I-70 westbound will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday, September 24, and I-70 eastbound will be reduced to one lane on Friday, September 26. Both restrictions are scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and are expected to be completed by 3:30 p.m.

Work began on this project at the end of May, and is expected to be completed in October.
