Dr. Brown to Retire from Zane State College

For the past 11 years Dr. Paul Brown has been the President of Zane State College, but in just nine short months he will be retiring.

Dr. Brown says that part of the mission of Zane State is to develop the region. Through his long involvement with the school he has become involved in the development of a project that would reinvest resources into the redevelopment of our region, which he sited as his reasoning behind the announcement of his retirement.

"The short answer is that I want to do that project full time and devote all my energy into that because I think that is the only way that we can really see some momentum" said Dr. Brown.

Dr. Brown says he is proud of all of the accomplishments that Zane State has had over the past 11 years while his name was on the presidents door. But, he says the thing he is most proud of is the message that Zane State is projecting.

"We are making some progress, so a different message is getting out there. That its worth while to go to college. If you go to college you’ll get a better job."

Dr. Brown says that although he is leaving the school as its leader he will still be an active member in the community and that he appreciates the support that he has had from members of the community and community leaders.
