Accident Involving OSP Vehicle

An accident on the north end of Zanesville involving a State Highway Patrol vehicle is currently under investigation.
 

The accident happened at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday  near the intersection of Northpointe Drive and Military Road.
 

"Our trooper was traveling what would be considered northbound on Northpointe from 146 toward State Route 60" Lt.  Matt Boyd of the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said.". The white car that was involved in the crash came from Military Road onto Northpointe, and he struck the vehicle in the driver’s side."

The female driver of the car was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and Boyd says the trooper was also transported for precautionary reasons.

Boyd added that the driver of the white vehicle will likely be cited with failure to yield at a stop sign.

The Zanesville Police Department is handling the investigation from this point.

Falls Township Squad and Genesis Community Ambulance also responded to the scene.
