Two Car Injury Accident

A two vehicle injury accident occurred Thursday afternoon in Downtown Zanesville.

The collision happened on 6th Street and Canal. Sergeant Jon McCoy of the Zanesville Police Department explained what happened.

"On arrival, through the investigation, the investigation disclosed that a red light was ran on 6th Street with a small Nissan occupied one time which collided with a full size Ford F-150 turning left from Marietta Street onto the 6th Street Bridge."

A section of traffic on Marietta and 6th was shut down for a time at the bridge. Lieutenant Hobson of the Zanesville Fire Department says that both Community Ambulance and Roseville transported two males to good Samaritan hospital.

"They were both stable, non critical, non life threatening injuries, they were both transported at this time."

Police say it appeared both drivers were wearing their seat belts. The driver of the Nissan will be cited with failure to stop at a red light.
