Annual Auction for The Animal Shelter

The Animal Shelter is featuring Rayna, a four-year-old mix breed.

Rayna is this weeks pet of the week, and you can take her home for just a $125. Jody Murray, the Executive Director of The Animal Shelter said Rayna is a great dog for any style of household.

"Just a great friendly, loving dog would be a great dog for any family with kids, without kids an older person that just wanted a companion, just a great dog," Murray said.

The Animal Shelter got her from the Muskingum County Pound and hope that someone will take her home to be apart of their family. The Animal Shelter is also having its annual auction on the 25th of this month. The shelter raised around $25,000 from the auction last year. Murray said that all of the money stays at The Animal Shelter in Zanesville.

"It’s our main fundraiser," Murray said. "We are a private non-profit. We don’t get any assistance through state or local funding or anything like that, so it’s our main fundraiser of the year. All of the money made stays right here at this shelter."

The auction is at Eagle Sticks Golf Club. It costs $25 to get in, but that includes a dinner at 5:00 p.m. With the auction starting at 6:00.

Murray highlited a few autographed items for the auction. One is a signed Urban Meyer football and a Thad Matta signed basketball.
