Salvation Army’s Christmas Applications due Friday
The Salvation Army’s Christmas applications are due this week.
Each year, people can apply for a little Christmas time assistance from the Salvation Army. Families with children 12 and younger can apply to receive a food basket and also a toy basket. If your family does not have young children, you can still apply to receive a food basket.
"Everybody that comes in and fills out an application that’s needing some Christmas help will get the toys and the food basket," said Office Coordinator, Mindy McCloy.
The application deadline is Friday at 7 p.m. You can go into the Salvation Army to apply from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday. McCloy said around 300 families have applied already, and they have many spots remaining.
"We want to make sure that everyone realizes that because this is the last week and so families are missing it and then they call in and we’re not going to be able to help after this week, and that’s why we kind of wanted to make sure everybody knew about it," said McCloy.
When you go to apply, you will need a photo I.D., Social Security numbers for everyone in the family, all your monthly bills, and proof of income. The baskets will be delivered to those with aproved applications on December 17 and 18.
