Relay for Life Open House

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the Relay for Life? October 25 you’ll have an opportunity.

The Relay for Life is an overnight walk. Teams gather together and walk through the night to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. This year, they are having a kick off for the first time ever with an open house. Lora Young, Marketing and PR Lead of the Muskingum County Relay for Life told us the event is to show the community what you can get from participating in it.

"To show people what a great event and participating in it, what you can really get from it. It’s such a great…..It’s a reward in life. It truly is."

The open house will have educational opportunities, games, and a luminary area. Young explained events like these are essential when it comes to educating those living in the area.

"The importance of events like this is is educate the community on, you know, the American Cancer Society and how the Relay for Life effects our community. The funds raised from the relay for life stay right here in Muskingum county to assist with research, development, expenses for patients, things like that."

The Relay for Life is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The event will be held Saturday, October 25 from 1PM to 5PM in meeting room one at Good Samaritan Hospital. This year, the Relay for Life will be celebrating its 30 year anniversary.
