Public Service Committee Discusses Future Plans

The Zanesville Public Service Committee has many projects in the works.

Several issues were discussed in today’s meeting, with one in particular pertaining to 6th Street and Main Street. Public Service Director, Jay Bennett say’s they’ve had issues with 6th Street in the past.

"One was the 6th Street traffic crash data, kind of reviewing some things that the city can do to try to encourage people to slow down when they’re coming up into the intersection at 6th and Main."

6th Street will be paved and striped in the spring to help prevent future accidents. Their next biggest project will take place on Linden Avenue.

"When the city bid that earlier this summer, one of the conditions we had was the neighborhood streets that was in that paving program package could wait until next spring, but Linden from Mcintire, The Bridge, interstate bridge overpass, to all the way to the Y-Bridge needed to be paved this year. 2:16 "

Construction on Linden Avenue will begin next week.
