Bishop Rosecrans Wins a Pair of District Titles; Lady Muskies Roll

The Rosecrans boys and girls both dominated on the soccer field today, winning their respective district titles by a combined score of 13-2. The Lady Bishops blanked Ironton St. Joseph, 7-0, behind four first-half goals while the Bishops downed Wheelersburg, 5-2, with Logan McLaughlin and Lane Dailey each netting a pair. 

Rounding out division III girls soccer action, West Muskingum fell to Lynchburg Clay, 2-0, meaning the Lady Mustangs will meet the Lady Bishops next Tuesday at Bloom Carroll High School with a trip to the regional final on hanging in the balance.

In division II, John Glenn also made it through to regional play with ease, as the Lady Muskies beat Minerva, 7-0. On the opposite side of the regional bracket, Granville advanced to the round of 16 by beating Bishop Hartley, 3-0. 

Finally, in division IV volleyball, the Newark Catholic Green Wave made quick work of Fisher Catholic, taking the district title in straight sets.
