Turner Named Artcoz Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Carrie Turner has been named the ArtCoz Artist of the Month for May.

Turner says she has done many art styles with her previous works but she always finds herself coming back to acrylic paints. She says she challenged herself to create a different piece each day she had the chance.

“In this collection of paintings, it’s a little bit different because I’m focusing on feathers and fur and more details and I’m slowing down,” Turner said. “I’m working on my patience and so I’m slowing down. Each one I’ve done within one day, so in the past I’ve done multiple paintings in one day and so I’m really trying to focus and slow down and make sure each piece is really good.”

She says it’s a great feeling being named Artist of the Month because she’s able to share her work with the community.

“It’s nice to be Artist of the Month,” Turner said. “It’s nice to get the people that will come out and see my work and maybe they haven’t seen it before so you get introduced to new people or they get introduced to you, so you get a new audience that way.”

Turner’s new collection will be on display this Friday for the First Friday Art Walk at BunkoJess’ Gallery, located at 126 Muskingum Ave.

There will also be vendors and live music next door at Weasel Boy Brewing Company.
