Update: Philo and Dresden Road Resurfacing Bids

The Muskingum County Community Development Director met with County Commissioners Monday.

The meeting was to give an update on the current bid situation for road re-surfacing in the Villages of Philo and Dresden. As of the last meeting, only one bid had been placed on the Philo project. Shelia Samson gave us an update on the current situation.

"We had to re-bid two re-surfacing projects. One was the Village of Philo, one was the Village of Dresden and we did receive a bid on each project and they are both within the 10% of the cost estimate so the commissioners took the bid under advisement and I will send them over to the engineers for their review and hopefully their approval."

5th Street in the Village of Philo needs to be resurfaced while 12 streets in Dresden need repairs. If the bids are approved the contractors will then be contacted. Samson told us about the bids currently on the table.

"The Village of Philo, Shelly & Sands was $45,010 and the Village of Dresden, the contractor is The Shelly Company at $70,993."

The funds for the two projects come from a state grant. The deadline for this is December 31st.
