Chamber Singers to Close Thursday Music Club’s Season

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Civic Chorus Chamber Singers are set to perform a Spring Choral Music Concert on Tuesday, May 14th, at Central Trinity United Methodist Church.

The event will begin at 7:30 PM and marks the finale of the Thursday Music Club’s 114th music season. The concert is free and welcomes all members of the public to experience the talents of the Chamber Singers.

“I just love to direct. It’s fun to do. It’s fun that I got to pick all the music out. Working with these people and seeing where we start with our first rehearsal and where we get to by the last rehearsal, trying to get the best sound out of them that I possibly can,” Thursday Music Club Music Director Ann Lillie Briggs said.

The performance will feature a unique program that follows the life cycle, encompassing themes of birth, growth, love, reflection, and renewal.

“I put together a program that follows a life cycle. It starts with a song about a baby girl that’s only four days old and what she has to look forward to in life. It goes through the girl wanting to fall in love and looking back at our predecessors with a song called Grand Fathers Clock. Then looking ahead towards how we want to end our life. The last piece is called Let the Life I’ve Lived Speak for Me,” Briggs said.

The Central Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 62 South Seventh street in Zanesville.
