“Dress for Success” Clothing Drive
Students in the administrative assistant program at Mid-East Career and Technology Center are having a clothing drive.
The Dress for Success drive aims to give students at Mid-East business casual attire to make an impression in a job interview. The drive will be Wednesday November 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The class asks for people wanting to donate to come to Mid-East and follow the signs to the drop off location.
"We’re accepting scrubs, polos, from business suits to khakis," said student Shayla Chandler. "Just anything that you can wear business casual."
The class’s instructor Keri Rosser said this drive helps give the students team work experience and also teaches them how to organize a project from scrap. Not only does the project give the students experience with team work, but Chandler said it is a good way to give back to the community.
"It feels great to be a part of a community and to be able to give back to them," said Chandler. "And use this as an experience to go in the future and maybe help out again."
The class is asking for new or gently used items to be donated to the drive.
