Wayne’s Walk-Off Lifts John Glenn To Another Sectional Title

NEW CONCORD, OH – At this point, “John Glenn softball” and “sectional title” might as well be synonymous with one another. Four years running now, and the Lady Muskies just keep on adding to the mantle behind home plate, but this one definitely didn’t come easy.

It was a wild battle at home, when the second-seeded Lady Muskies hosted number seven New Philadelphia.

Maybe one of the games of the year ended in dramatic fashion as Sarah Wayne came up with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, and an infield single gave John Glenn a 5-4 victory.

The game had a bit of everything: a walk-off hit, ten strikeouts from Sydney Marshall, three lead changes, two ties, and another sectional championship for the Muskies.

The reward for the Lady Muskies? A date with third-ranked Morgan in the district semifinals on Monday at 5 PM at Philo High School.
