Two Car Accident

A two vehicle accident occurred on Pinkerton Road Friday afternoon.

The call for the collision came in shortly before 3PM Friday. It closed the road at the scene for around 25 minutes. The injuries sustained to the individuals in the crash were minor, and no transportations were needed. Trooper Todd Henry of the Ohio State Highway Patrol explains what happened.

"We had a tan SUV traveling south on Pinkerton Road. We also had a black Honda traveling north on Pinkerton road. The Honda attempted to make a left hand turn into a private lot and turned in front of the SUV."

The driver of the Honda was cited with failure to yield when turning left. Newton Township EMS, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the scene.
