Police Say Attempted Abduction Report was Made Up

Zanesville, OH- The Zanesville Police Department said an attempted abduction reported on McConnell Avenue last month was made up.
Zanesville Police said after investigation the alleged abduction, detectives were able to determine that this did not actually occur. Makayla Wood, plead guilty in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court to one count of making false alarms. She will be sentenced at a later.
Zanesville Police said Wood reported on April 17 around 1:35pm she was outside with her infant child and a man and woman had parked in the driveway. She stated the man exited the vehicle and said he was from Child Protective Services and he was there to take the child. The woman said she felt something was wrong and ran into the house.
Police said another witness stated that the vehicle had also came to the residence about 45 minutes earlier and a different man was asking for an individual who did not live there.
