Bishops Come up Short in Regional Final
Rosecrans boys soccer fell to Grandview Heights, 2-1 (7-6), in a shootout to put an end to the Bishops’ season. Logan McLaughlin scored the first goal of the game for Rosecrans.
On the gridiron, the injury-plagued Bishops lost to Fort Frye, 35-6. The game will be broadcast in its entirety on WHIZ Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Granville enjoyed a landmark day in girls sports, as the Lady Aces won the regional championship in soccer and captured the state title in cross country. The Sheridan boys finished 7th in division II cross country, one spot behind the Granville boys. Not to be outdone by the Blue Aces, Newark Catholic volleyball won the division IV regional championship in straight sets while Newark Catholic football ended its season on a high note by defeating Utica, 20-6.
