MVL Shines in Showcase

Dresden- It doesn’t matter the level of competition it is always football season somewhere.

In the MVL local athletes had the chance to show off their skills in an inaugural showcase event.

The first ever MVL Football Showcase featured at least one player from every school in the MVL. It included big names like MVL Player of the Year Max Lyall from Tri-Valley, Jake Anton from West Muskingum and Colton Conkle from Coshocton.

Carson Kellogg running back from New Lexington was also one of the 75 more players that took advantage of the free opportunity, “I thought it was cool that all the coaches came together to help other teams and other players. I just think it’s a maturity that the MVL has come to. This wasn’t happening 10 years ago.”

Tri-Valley Coach Cameron West added, “I think just seeing the kids competing at high levels is the main thing that was kind of our goal. Obviously for them to be respectful is big and to see how they interact with kids from other schools. We saw nothing but good things.”

Nathan Brownrigg the head coach at West Muskingum said, “We have some dudes here who can play at the next level, multiple levels and I think some of these college coaches saw some kids that  they never would have otherwise. The same goes the other way. The fact that we’re able to make those connections makes everything worth it.”

Over 20 colleges were on hand to watch the showcase.
