Veterans Day Parade this weekend

The annual Veterans Day parade is this weekend, but there is something new this year.

After the parade there will be a movie showing at the John McIntire Library. Honor Flight tells the story of veterans making the journey to Washington D.C. To pay tribute to their war memorial. The Muskingum Valley New Tech Academy’s U.S. government class is helping to put the movie on. Senior Neal Edwards spoke with us about what it means to show the movie.

"Honestly, I think it’s a huge honor for New Tech and for me personally to help so they can kind of just sit back and relax, and enjoy being in the spotlight for once."

The movie will start at 11 a.m. Saturday and is free of charge. Edwards describes the movie as an emotional account of what the honor flight is and what it means to the veterans who take part in it. He said it is important for people to come see the movie and show respect for our veterans.

"They fought for our country, it’s our freedom. They give us all these freedoms, so I think it’s something little to kind of pay back for what they did."

There is a joint effort that also includes the John McIntire Library , Zandex, Genesis and the WHIZ Media Group.
