Honoring the WWII and Korean Veterans Parade

The annual Veterans parade in Zanesville is this Saturday and the public is invited to attend.

It kicks off at 10 a.m. In front of Secrest Auditorium. Muskingum County Veterans Council President, Jeffory Dittmar says they have a special spot for all the Veterans this year.

"The actual title of the parade is "Honoring the WWII and Korean Veterans" and we would love to have people come and ride on Zimba’s lowboy because they have fixed up the truck for the WWII and Korean Veterans and anyone can ride there, any of the Veterans, if they so choose because they all, on that truck will be the Grand Marshals."

The parade will start on Shinnick Street, head south on 6th Street and turn right on Main Street before heading back to Secrest Auditorium. Dittmar says planning the parade wasn’t easy but it will be worth it in the end.

"I just think that it’s been hard work, but it’s been good work and it’s been long coming, but i think people are in store for a really big surprise of a nice parade."

If you haven’t already registered for the parade and would still like to do so, you can register on site as early as 8:30 Saturday morning.
