The Schubach Big Band Prepares to Ignite the Summer with Music

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Schubach Big Band is gearing up for a summer full of music and memories.

The band has some performances coming up that are sure to have you dancing in your seat, or the aisles.

The first concert will be on Friday, June 7th, starting at 8pm at the Pomerene Art PARK in Coshocton.

David Schubach, the Composer and Band Leader, said the Schubach Tangos – Olé concert promises to heat up the night.

“Tangos are passionate pieces and you can just feel it,” Schubach said. “In fact, they’re teaching a lesson before the concert, so if you want to learn the basic tango step, you’re welcome to tango in the aisle while we do our concert. We’re also bring two of the best tango dances in all of Ohio to dance to 3 of our pieces and that is Francesco Guerra and his partner Katie Myers, so we’re going to have professional tango dancers there also”

The second concert is the first in a 3 part concert series that the J.W. & M.H Straker Charitable foundation helped to fund.

This concert will take place on Tuesday, June 11th at 12PM at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors.

Schubach said this concert will feature music from the “Golden Era”.

“We wanted to do something special for the seniors, so we’re playing music for their lunch hour,” Schubach said. “It’s going to be music from the “Golden Era” of the big bands: “In the Mood”, “String of Pearls”, “American Patrol “, things like that.”

The 2nd concert will be the annual Riverfront Concert at Zane’s Landing Park on August 4th at 7:30PM.

The 3rd concert will be a holiday concert, date yet to be determined.

All of the concerts are free and open to the public.
