Third Annual Career Connection Camp

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Muskingum County Social Justice Coalition hosted its third annual Career Connections Camp.
The five-day camp offered college tours, local industry visits and skill development activities.
“The program that we had this past week exposed 7th all the way up to 10th graders about the plethora of communities and connections that they have within the Muskingum County and how they can get access to those resources, and how they can use it to benefit their future, whether it is pursing education, higher education or getting into a trade or some other career field that they may be interested in,” said Career Connections Camp Coordinator, Rosario Riggs.
Those who graduated received an iPad and opportunities for post camp internships.
“I think it’s important for everyone to know that this program is not subjugated to just one specific group, we’re trying to reach all of the aspects and all branches of this community, so you don’t have to consider yourself to be in one private sector of the community to be welcomed in, we’re more than happy to help anybody, people who are well off in life or people who are perhaps struggling, we need to help those people know that they have resources and connections regardless of where they are in life,” said Riggs.
