Fatal Oil Drilling Accident in Noble County

Noble County Sheriff Stephen Hannum said his deputies were called to the scene of a fatal oil well drilling accident in Marion Township Wednesday evening.

The well site is off Roberta Cleary Road in the northeast corner of Marion Township. Facts are being collected and a full investigation is underway. Area fire departments and Noble County EMA are said to be actively involved.

Sheriff Hannum said he requested the assistance of the State Fire Marshall. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of family. We’ll have more as it becomes available.
