Vista Golf Course Welcomes Footgolf
There’s a new sport coming to Muskingum County.
The Vista Golf Course has welcomed a new game to its course called footgolf, a game of golf played with a soccer ball. Footgolf is brand new to this area and Vista is the first golf course to open up a footgolf course. To help kick-off this new sport, golf course manager Ryan Schmidt invited the Licking County Christian Academy soccer team to play the first game.
"This is the first time any of these players have actually played this sport. We’re just, we wanna get people out here and kind of get them, give them a taste of it so they can come back and hopefully play again in the future. "
Men’s coach, Roderick Gibson says it’s a different experience for the team and they plan on making footgolf a regular tradition.
"Like I said, there’s no other course around here that has welcomed in the soccer community like vista has. So, you know, we’ll definitely be back, maybe when it warms up a bit more, but yeah, we’ll be back. "
Vista Golf Course has 18 holes of footgolf on 9 holes of its golf course and golfers and footgolfers can co-mingle to play at the same time.
