Martin Scored 34 Points With Fractured Wrist

Zanesville grad and Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin is out indefinitely with a fractured wrist, the team announced today.

Ironically, the 34-year-old turned in one of the best performances of his career after sustaining the injury to the wrist of his shooting hand in Minnesota’s 115-99 win over the Knicks on Wednesday.

Martin injured his wrist when he was fouled shooting a 3-pointer in the first quarter of the game. He scored 34 points the rest of the way to finish with a game-high 37 and tie a career-high with seven 3-pointers.

Even more impressively, Martin was a game-time decision that night because he was battling an illness and needed IV fluids during the day.

The former Blue Devil has tallied 71 points in his last two games and has scored at least 34 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2011.
