Christ Table Receives a Heartwarming Donation

Christ Table received a heartwarming surprise this afternoon.

Teresa Norris, the office manager of Behavioral Health at the Muskingum Valley Health Center recently saw a story on the news about Christ Table needing help this Thanksgiving. So, Norris decided to spread the word to co-workers and ended up getting more support than she had planned.

"So, I went to work and I talked to my fellow employees and told them what I wanted to do and everybody was just right on board and giving and caring and donated money and so we were able to present them with the money that we gave them today, people raised $1,000 and I just thought that was phenomenal."

This afternoon, Norris surprised Keely Warden, the executive director of Christ Table, with the generous donation.

"Oh my gosh, I was totally blown away from this, I had no idea this was going on and $1,000 at this point in time of the year is unbelievably generous, especially knowing where we are with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up we can really use it. But, I think that the best part of the whole thing is knowing that there’s community partners out there that really recognize what you do and the part that you’re playing in the community."

Warden says that meal counts are high during the winter months, so the money could not have came at a better time.
