Big Brothers Big Sisters Holds Buckeye Pep Rally
Ohio State Fans and fans of Big Brothers Big Sisters gathered together to raise money for the organization Friday Night.
The Buckeye Pep Rally was held at the Veterans Hall at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. Tickets for the event could be bought ahead of time or at the door. Those who attended had the chance to take part in a live and silent auction, games, and win prizes. They could also enjoy a hot meal and drinks among friends. Co-chairman of the event, Stephanie Ansel told us what goes into the event each year.
"A lot of time. A lot of time, a lot of work. This is our first year of being at the fairgrounds so we’re hoping to have a lot of things come out well."
About 300 were expected to attend. Ansel says they hoped to raise $32,000 in funds. Ansel also explained that the pep rally is always an incredible help to the organization.
"A ton. We have two really big fundraisers a year. This is our second biggest one. It helps a lot of kids become very successful."
The event has been taking place now for 14 years.
