Zanesville Fire Department helping Toys for Tots
Once again the Zanesville Fire Department is acting as a drop off location for the annual Toys for Tots drive.
The fire department has been involved with it for around 10 years now, and firefighter Gale Law said in the past they have had a drop off drive through and even wrapped toys. This year there will be drop off locations at the department’s three stations. Law wants people to know that the fire department is there to collect new gifts for the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toy for Tots.
"The organizer of the Marine Corps Reserve asked us to help a few years ago, and we’ve helped ever since they asked," Law said. "We do want to make sure that everybody understands that this is a drop off place for the toys."
Only new and unwrapped toys are accepted in the Toys for Tots drop off boxes. Law said the fire department enjoys helping with this drive each year.
"It makes us feel great to be able to be involved in this," Law said. "We’ve been able to help kids in our own union functions, and this is a big outreach for us too."
