Dog Comes to the Rescue in House Fire
Fire crews responded to a house fire at 7720 Baker Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Mary Greenfield, who rents the home along with her husband, was in the house when it caught on fire. She said she was taking a nap after working Black Friday at Kohl’s, when one of her dogs, Bailey, tugged on her to wake her up. She was then able to make it out of the home unharmed, as was the case with her six dogs. Her husband was not home at the time. A cat in the home was later rescued by Frazeysburg Fire crews.
Greenfield says she believes the fire may have been started by the wood burner, but no official cause has been determined at this point.
The Red Cross has been called in to help. Crews from Falls Township, Dresden, and Frazeysburg all responded. We’ll have more details as they become available.
