Black Friday Becoming Black Thursday

The biggest shopping day of the year is here today, and thousands of shoppers set out to find the best deals of the day.

Black Friday may be the largest shopping day of the year, but many began marking off their Christmas "to-buy" list last night.

Keri Dunnington, a Colony Square shopper said, "Well, we usually go, Thanksgiving night to Wal-Mart ."

Another shopper, Ashlee Amspaugh, stated, "We actually started last night, after I got off work, I started and then we had to pick up the other ones this morning."

For some, Black Friday is more than just the biggest shopping day of the holiday season — its a family tradition.

"It’s been fun, and I mean this is really one time a year that we can actually all get off and go together so it just kind of makes it good. That way we can all spend time together and do shopping," said Amspaugh.

Amspaugh spent the day with her daughter, mother, and grandmother. However, they aren’t the only ones who took the opportunity to spend Black Friday with their families, but not everyone was as excited about the shopping.

"I pretty much go along," said one male shopper who was out with his wife.

He may not be enthusiastic about shopping, but the one thing that keeps everyone coming back out each year are those money saving deals.
