Cambridge Holds Annual Christmas Parade

The Thanksgiving Holiday has come and gone and now Cambridge residents are getting in the Christmas spirit.

The annual Christmas Parade was held in Downtown Cambridge at 5PM Saturday. Hundreds of community members came out to watch floats decorated in Christmas lights pass down the city’s Main Street. We talked to Marilyn Metzger, a first time parade attendee who was very pleased with the celebration.

"Oh I love parades and I love all the Christmas lights and uh, I don’t know I guess I’m just ready for Christmas!"

Garland decorated street lamps and lights added some holiday sparkle to the local courthouse. Keith Moore attended the parade for the 45th time Saturday evening. He brought with him his daughter Bella. They attend the parade each year for a few different reasons.

"Keith: Well we get to see Santa Claus don’t we? Bella: Mmmhm! *giggles* Keith: and we get to get some candy and of course we get to see all our friends…The parade is better than any parade I’ve ever been to so this is why we keep coming back."

After the parade, people gathered on the lawn of the courthouse for hot chocolate, kettle corn and a timed, musical light display.
