NEW CONCORD, OH – Today, the Ohio State Highway Patrol held regional testing for prospective applicants at Muskingum University.
The event welcomed individuals interested in a career with the patrol, offering them the chance to speak with troopers about serving the community and ensuring safety on Ohio’s roadways. Eligible candidates had the opportunity to complete an application, take a written test, and proceed to the physical fitness assessment.
“We’re doing a lot of regional testing around the state. The goal is to bring testing to potential candidates and applicants. The biggest goal is to get as many people as we can who are qualified. As you know, law enforcement as a whole, definitely needs as many good people as we can. So, this is just a way to bring testing to them.” Sergeant Chase Watts, from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking highly motivated and well-trained professionals committed to providing quality service to Ohio residents, visitors, and businesses. The patrol is currently accepting applicants for the next academy class.
“My biggest advice is apply. That’s the biggest thing. A lot of people drag their feet, they’re kind of nervous to take those first steps. We’re here to guide you. Us and the recruitment officers, we’re here to help you every step of the way to help someone become a state trooper.” Sergeant Watts said.
