Animal Shelter Annual Christmas Open House

The Animal Shelter in Muskingum County is getting in the holiday spirit. This Saturday, the animal shelter is hosting their annual Christmas open house from 10 a.m until 2 p.m at the Animal Shelter. During the open house there will be kids crafts, cookies and punch and staff members will be giving tours of their facility as well. Executive Director, Jody Murray, says there will be special deals for those who are looking to adopt. "Folks that do an adoption will have a chance to pick a ball out of Santa’s stocking and either get a 10, 20, or 30 dollar discount. And then we’re also, we love pets, they always come to this event, they have some samples here to answer questions, things like that." Murray says even if you’re looking to donate and you can’t make it out tomorrow, you can stop into the animal shelter and pull a tag off of their giving tree. "That’s a tree where people can come in, we have tags on there if you want to contribute something to the shelter, sponsor a dog, kind of help us with some of the needs that we have. It’s easy, you just pick off the card, it may have a list of some items that the shelter needs, so that’s gonna be available throughout the rest of Christmas for us." Murray says they’re expecting to have around 100 people stop in tomorrow for the open house.
