UPDATE: Dresden Road Fire
The Zanesville Fire Department is on the scene of a fire at 2630 Dresden Road.
Fire and EMS crews were called to the scene just after 4:30 this afternoon to smoke pouring out of the home. Three people were home at the time and were able to escape the blaze. We spoke to the homeowner who told us a heater in the garage caught fire. His wife initially attempted to put out the flames with an extinguisher but was unsuccessful. Rescuers pulled a dog from the home and treated it with oxygen on the scene. The pet was alert and moving when she was taken away. The homeowner told us they had been living at the home for about two years. Falls Township Fire Department, Zanesville Police and Fire and Genesis Community Ambulance responded to the scene. WHIZ will bring you more information as we have it.
