Woman Dies from Injuries Sustained in Accident

Cass Township-  A Walhonding woman passed away Saturday night from injuries sustained in a Friday evening accident.

The accident took place on State Route 16 in Cass Township around 5:30pm. The State Highway Patrol said 33-year-old Joshua Samson, of Zanesville was eastbound on State Route 16 in a 2007 Ford pick up truck and drove left of center.

Samson’s struck another Ford pick-up truck pulling a livestock trailer driven by 23-year-old Trenton Vickers.

Both Samson and Vickers sustained minor injuries.

A passenger in Vickers’ vehicle 55-year-old Katherine Vickers sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to Genesis Hospital and then transferred to Grant Medical Center where she passed away Saturday night.
