2024 Muskingum Riverfest rallies community for a day of fun and conservation

ZANESVILLE, OH- It was a beautiful day for Muskingum Riverway Advocacy Council’s 8th Annual Riverfest.
The event serves as their largest fundraiser of the year. There were lots of activities to enjoy, such as raffles, 50/50’s, a Chinese auction, a DJ, as well as food and beverages.
“We are raising funds to support the Muskingum River, our mission is to support the economic, historical and recreational assets of the Muskingum River,” said Muskingum Riverway Advocacy Council Vice President, Aimee Kain.
The event took place at the Muskingum Valley Boating Association and was a fun way for the community to help sustain the local waterways.
“There are so many activities that you can do on the Muskingum River and we want to again, keep it clean, focus on the historical value that it has, if you go through the locks what those historical assets are, keep it safe so snag removal, keeping it flowing for everyone to be safe and not tear up equipment and that kind of thing and bring business to the area,” said Kain.
