Local Farmers Market to Host Health and Wellness Day
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville Farmers Market is the place to find locally sourced food and crafted goods but for this weekend it’s also a source of health and wellness education.
The farmers market is hosting it’s first annual Health and Wellness Day from 9 to 12pm this Saturday behind Adornetto’s. With something for the whole family, children can take part in ambulance tours by Value Care Ambulance service, or play kickball, wiffleball, soccer, and on an obstacle course organized by the YMCA.
“I have two kids and so what I want to show them is that health is something that you do every day. You look around in the community, you think locally on how you can make things more sustainable and more healthy for us and for the next generation,” said Micah Hanks, a Zanesville Farmers Market board member and owner of Double Shot Espresso Company.
There will also be free Narcan training by the county health department, free blood pressure screenings and tote bags from QUICKmed and and other learning opportunities from a total of seven local organizations, showcasing a community driven by health.
“I love seeing the engagement of our community whenever they come together. Every week we have local business owners that own and operate here in Muskingum County and seeing the community rally behind what they’re doing, the services that they’re providing, and then increasing health awareness. I think health is something that everybody can benefit from,” Hanks said.
