MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OH (WHIZ) – The Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center makes final plans for updating their facility with the $15,000 in grant money they have received. Much of the grant money will be used to update old equipment that is no longer compatible with other equipment at the detention center.
Road Repairs in Washington Township
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, OH (WHIZ) – Zanesville Mayor Jeff Tilton met with the County Commissioners Monday to discuss road repairs in Washington Township. Mayor Tilton says they are looking at different options to deal with the the current situation such as increasing money distributed to the township per year, or taking over the snow removal and moving responsibilities.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Holiday Report
COLUMBUS, OH (AP) – Eight people lost their lives on Ohio roadways during the five day reporting period that was the 2015 New Year’s Holiday. During this year’s reporting period, troopers arrested 365 drivers for impaired driving. In addition, troopers cited 479 people with aggressive driving, arrested 183 motorists for drug-related offenses, and cited 982 people for safety belt violations.
