Zanesville Museum of Art to Host Watermedia Society Exhibition

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Zanesville Museum of Art is gearing up to host a Watercolor Exhibition.

The Southeastern Ohio Watermedia Society Annual Juried Exhibition will be open to the community starting on Saturday, September 7th. Aaron Thompson, the Exhibition Coordinator, said there will be 26 different works from twenty-six local artists.

“A wide variety of disciplines as far as art styles go, all water based media, watercolor, acrylics,” Thompson said. “With the variation in mediums there’s all kinds of results that artists get, some get more vibrant and others muted and others that are neutral. There’s a wide variety.”

To help celebrate the opening of this exhibit, the Museum will have light refreshments beginning at 1PM on Saturday. Thompson says he hopes those who come in for the Watermedia Exhibition stick around because there is much more to see.

“I think that the Museum here in Zanesville is kind of an overlooked gem, there’s really a lot to see in the whole place, a lot of really good stuff,” Thompson said. “You might see something that you like, that you may not have seen otherwise.”

The Southeastern Ohio Watermedia Society Annual Juried Exhibition’s opening will begin at 1PM and wrap up around 4PM.

The exhibit will be on display until January 11th, 2025.
