Carr Center Golf Outing

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Friday the 13th may be unnerving for those who are superstitious but for others it’s the perfect occasion for a scary good time.
The Carr Center held their annual fundraiser golf outing at the Zanesville Jaycee’s Golf Course today with the proceeds going towards their adult daycare program.
“The Carr Center’s adult day program is a program where adults with special needs or dementia or… it provides respite for families who are in need,” Carr Center Executive Director Katie Graham said. “It’s a wonderful program where they come to us. They are provided breakfast and lunch and snacks. And we have activities. And a lot of times we try to take them on field trips and this is kind of what the proceeds are going to.”
The golf outing has been around for more than 30 years and is just one of the fundraising events the nonprofit offers to the community for recognition and participation.
“We just kind of realized it was Friday the 13th. I would kind of like to do it again next year,” Graham said. “I think that would be fun and really kind of theme it up. But yeah, we have 10 teams, we’re super excited to have them today. The weather is beautiful and we’re just excited to have everybody’s support.”
The Carr Center offers a variety of specialized programs that cater to many families and their loved ones in the community, who are in need of those programs.
