ZANESVILLE, OH – The Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra is getting ready for their first concert of the season.

Their Royal 50th Season kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 20th in Secrest Auditorium at 7PM with Puddles Pity Party featuring special guest, Puddles the Clown.

Dr. Laura Schumann, the Music Director and Conductor of SEOSO and Professor of Music at Muskingum University, says the wanted to go big or go home for their 50th Season, and they’re going big.

“The orchestra has been working really, really hard because these selections are maybe not what we always do.” Dr. Schumann said. “So we’ve got popular tunes, tunes like royals. Tunes like “Hallelujah” , “Creep”, maybe things we wouldn’t ordinarily do but have arrangements and he’ll be singing with us. So some unusual stuff, that’s taken a different kind of work to make sure it’s nice and tight.”

Dr. Schumann says this has been a great experience for the orchestra but it will be even better for the audience.

She says she can’t wait to hear Puddles sing along with an orchestra for the first time ever.

“Those that already follow Puddles Pity Party, they have been at his concerts, they know what he does but the first time with an orchestra? It’s killer.” Dr. Schumann said. “It’s so cool and we’re so excited to do this.”
