S. Zanesville Fire Department Gearing up for South Town Fire Fest
ZANESVILLE, OH -The South Zanesville Fire Department is gearing for their first South Town Fire Fest.
The South Town Fire Fest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19th at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds starting at 11AM.
Chief of the Fire Department, Russell Taylor, says that Combat to Kayaks reached out and wanted to help with a fundraiser to help pay the remaining balance on the Fire Department’s new memorial.
“We will have 9 local bands playing starting at 11AM to 8PM.” Chief Taylor said. “We’ll also be cooking our famous ribs and pulled pork sandwiches, we also have right now, 3 bouncy houses and some kids games for all the kiddos to have something to do that day.”
Taylor says that they wanted to have local bands perform to showcase all of the talent we have here right in our County.
He also says in addition to all of the food and activities already going on, there will also be mobile vendors and a beer garden to enjoy.
“All of the proceeds from there will be heading back to finish off paying our memorial.” Taylor said. “But also, if you come that day and would like to donate something to the hurricane relief in Western, North Carolina or this new hurricane that’s going to hit Tampa, please bring it. It doesn’t matter what it is, we’ll make sure they get it to help those people that are going to be in a great need.”
The Fire Department will also be selling their Breast Cancer Awareness shirts for $25 at the Fire Fest.
The South Town Fire Fest is free and open to the public.
