MCCF Fall Scholarships Now Open
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Community Foundation Fall Scholarship cycle is now open.
This year’s Fall Scholarship Cycle offers 3 scholarships for current high school seniors and recently graduated students.
Andrea Polen, the Scholarship Manager, explained the requirements and who can apply for the different scholarships.
“We’ve got the Martin Luther King Jr. Book Scholarship, that’s available to current high school students who are also minorities and they also must have academic excellence.” Polen said. “The Friends of Secrest, that’s our other high school student scholarship. The Friends of Secrest is for students who are involved in their choir and that they’re also involved in the Muskingum County Concert Choir and they’re planning to major in the fine arts.”
Polen says the last scholarship opportunity in the fall cycle is the L. Leona Burrell Scholarship.
She says that the scholarship will be awarded to a Muskingum County resident who is a minority and a high school graduate, enrolling in either a two- or four-year degree program.
Polen says these scholarships are a little different because they are not awarded in May like the others they offer.
“These are the scholarships that, when they’re awarded, it’s actually outside of our normal cycle.” Polen said. “Which would be during the May award ceremonies, so the Friends of Secrest , it awards at the Secrest December Holiday Concert. Then the Burrell and the MLK Scholarships both award on MLK Day at the Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast.”
If you are interested in applying for any one of these 3 scholarships, you can head to mccf.org/apply.
The Fall Scholarship Cycle is open until Nov. 1st at 11:59PM.
