City of Zanesville Gears Up for Halloween Fun

Trick Or Treat

ZANESVILLE, OH – The City of Zanesville is gearing up for some family, friendly Halloween fun.

On Sunday, Oct. 27th, from 5:30 to 7PM, witches, goblins, and ghosts will be out for Trick or Treat.

Mayor of Zanesville, Don Mason, says that even parents and grandparents should join in on the fun.

“It’s important for parents to dress in their favorite Halloween outfit along with children.” Mayor Mason said. “That way we can have the festive spirit and sort of relax for a little while. We’ve had a lot of media blitz on political campaigns, but this is an opportunity to really do something with your children.”

Mayor Mason says there will be Police out during Trick or Treat to make sure everyone is having fun, safe and responsibly.

He also advises if you are planning to get into the Halloween spirit, to dress in bright colors to help make yourself more visible to motorists.

“We do encourage bright clothing.” Mason said. “There’s going to be someone dressed as a witch in all black, it would be nice to have a ghost next to that person. But again, the parents need to remember that most of the walking is in the streets and have to really pay attention to motorists and hoping motorists see us.”

Mayor Mason also says to check through your children’s candy after Trick or Treat to make sure it’s safe to eat.
