White Out To Blame In I-70 Multi-Car Accident
A multi-car accident occurred on Interstate 70 Westbound just before Gratiot Saturday evening.
Rich Lanning, Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol says white out conditions and vehicles spinning out were to blame. Lanning told us the number of vehicles involved is uncertain.
“We really don’t know how many vehicles were involved. 11 of them were here that I handled the crash with but evidently there were several vehicles that left the scene.”
No citations were issued in the accident. According to Lanning, there were no injuries due to the slow speed of drivers. Further west on I-70 was an accident that shut down the highway for a little over 3 hours Saturday afternoon. According to the State Highway Patrol the road re-opened around 4:30PM. The Highway Patrol reports minor injuries.
