Miss South East Ohio Pageant Saturday
Style, service, scholarship, and success — that’s the motto of the Miss America Pageant, and the first step toward becoming Miss America is winning the Miss South East Ohio pageant.
This Saturday at Secrest Auditorium starting at 7 p.m. you can see some of the most talented and beautiful young ladies in Ohio compete for that coveted crown. Simultaneously, the Teen contestants ages 13-17 and the Miss contestants, ages 18-24, will be showing off their beauty, brains, and talent on the Secrest Stage.
"We have a great show planned, there are some local talent who are just performing in the show. Some wonderful dancers and singers, and also the girls who are competing are doing all types of different dances, and every genera of music is going to be represented," said Director of the Miss South East Ohio Pageant, Michelle Patterson.
The teen cost to enter the pageant is 150 dollars, while competing in the Miss portion is free of charge. If you plan to compete, the Miss America Organization does require that you choose a platform to represent. Winning the pageant is making a commitment to be a public spokeswoman for the issue you have chosen to educate yourself about. In addition to becoming a public role model, the winner will also be awarded scholarship money.
"It is a scholarship program, so not only do you get the benefit of learning how to speak on stage, and you know i think it’s a great confidence booster, whether you win or not just getting up and competing is great for your confidence. But also, the scholarship," said Patterson.
The winner of the Miss portion of the pageant will go on to compete in the Miss Ohio pageant. We will have both the teen and Miss winners of the Miss South East Ohio pageant in studio during our 11:00 p.m. news cast this Saturday.
