The Muskingum County Library System’s 2014 Annual Report
The Muskingum County Library System’s 2014 annual report is available for public viewing.
In 2014 for every $1.00 invested in the library’s general revenue fund area residents received $4.90 cents in library materials, resources, programs and technology.
“We feel that this is a significant return on investment for area residents and tax payers. Of course, we always plan to grow that and improve that, and trough our strategic plan we look forward to making that an even higher figure in the future,” said Assistant Director of Muskingum County Library Systems, Blair Tom.
The annual report also stated that over 750,000 items were borrowed or downloaded from the library system, over 40,000 digital books were downloaded, and over 75,000 magazines were borrowed free of charge.
“We had over 3,100 children and teens read over 95,000 books during the six week summer reading program and a figure we’re very pleased about, the library generated over $328,723 in local vendor impact,” stated Blair.
Due to the rise in technology the library system is an ever changing model. According to Blair this year’s report proves that the library is adapting with the times.
